Art Adventures Program

Browning is in need of presenters for our 2010-2011 Art Adventures Program!

Who would be a great Art Adventures presenter?

  • A volunteer, who enjoys, admires or has a passion for art.
  • A volunteer who does not need to be artist…just creative!
  • A volunteer who presents art and/or artist information to students in their classrooms. He or she is not teaching or painting in the classrooms.
  • A volunteer who receives aid and support from Browning’s chairperson for Art Adventures Program.
  • A presenter can be anyone (stay-at-home moms/dads, working moms/dads, retirees, grandparents, godparents, older siblings, etc.…..)
An Art Adventure presenter is a volunteer who wants to help out the students, make a difference at Browning, and most of all have fun!

For more information, please fill out a volunteer form or contact Browning’s Art Adventures Chairperson, Vaishali Mahimkar ([email protected]).

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL FAMILY PICNIC

Thanks to everyone who came to our 1st “Back to School Family Picnic” on Thursday, Sept. 9th from 5:30-7:30pm.  Approximately 80 people enjoyed music provided by DJ Tony Tocco (we had some awesome dancers), facepainting, &/or running around the playground with friends!   We greatly appreciate Chris Washeleski organizing this family fun event.

Back to School Shopping Time

Thank you all for a wonderful year of fundraising! We raised a total of $1604.84 as a result of the Browning community participation in the “My School is Cool” Lakeside program in 2009/2010. We were one of 15 schools chosen to run in this year’s program.   Outstanding!!

Please start saving all your receipts from Lakeside Mall and we can make some easy money!  Every dollar we spend will earn us a point pass.  Browning has a locker for point passes in the Lord & Taylor court upstairs or they are accepting point passes at customer service counter right now for the fall session.

Any questions or concerns, please contact one of our “My School is Cool” co-chairs:  Dawn Neubacher ([email protected]) or Tracy Sorrentino ([email protected])

HEALTHY HABITS/HEALTHY MINDS

Dear Parents:

What better time to foster family engagement then the start of a new school year?

From the White House to our homes, we all recognize the need to prepare our children to be healthy, happy, well-educated citizens!  In 2010/2011, we hope to reach out to Browning parents & staff with our “Healthy Habits/Healthy Minds” theme to further strengthen the ties between school & community.  By promoting good eating habits & encouraging physical activity, we can help emphasize the important roles we all play in keeping our children healthy and ready to learn.

On behalf of the entire Browning Elementary family, the PTA would like to invite you to support our efforts in this initiative & to help supplement the classroom learning environment.   Without PTA fundraising dollars & our amazing volunteers, the opportunity for on-site learning experiences, field trips, playground equipment, supplemental learning materials, and, as in the past, Family Fun Events would not be possible.

Please check out our calendar of events & membership materials!  We look forward to working with you to support our students and staff in another “Browning the Best” year!
